SBND is offering a free Business Empowerment Workshop on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
At the event you will have an opportunity to expand your customer base, strengthen your support network and evaluate best practices for developing the capacity to grow a successful small business or nonprofit enterprise.
The empowerment workshop was inspired by renowned business professionals and motivational speakers such as
Meet and mingle with entrepreneurs who are rising above the economic recession by using empowerment principals to increase business revenue and create self-employment opportunities.
The workshop is free and will be hosted by Fifth Third Bank Center, 1420 E. 53rd Street, Chicago, IL 60615.

SSN Small Business and Nonprofit Development Group (SBND) is hosting its first VIP Network Reception on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Chicago State University.
Successful entrepreneurs are being challenged to answer the question, “What makes you a successful business or nonprofit organization leader in an economy that is failing to maintain its competitive edge?” SBND believes it's their relentless drive to accomplish goals and tenacious ability to capitalize on opportunities missed by others. This is why SBND is encouraging prominent entrepreneurs and corporate business owners to “reinvest in the community that invests in you."
In recognition of SBND's initiative, State of Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel have publically announced their support through greeting letters and proclamations.

“Earn College Credits from Home!…”
Strategic Solutions Network, Inc. (SSN) is seeking undergraduate and graduate interns to work with us on several strategic business development projects for small grassroots start-up organizations that require research on target consumers and competitive markets. There are several concentration areas that include, but not limited to the following:
(1) health, wellness, and nutrition, (2) social service enterprises, (3) children day care services(4) urban print and on-line media, and (5) nonprofit organization development.
Interns will have hands on opportunities to gain consulting experience and earn a small stipend to cover transportation, meals, or other miscellaneous expenses. Interns will also be able to work from home to complete research projects.
